What Kind of Epitaph You Would Have

ep·i·taph - an inscription on a tombstone or monument commemorating the person buried there (Encarta)

Every 1st day of November, we are celebrating a holiday remembering our departed loved ones.  And many times, we could read an epitaph in their tombstone where they buried.

There were different kinds of epitaph, some would portray a message of heroic deeds, other would give us a message of sadness or even fear, but most common is the message of faith, hope and love.

One epitaph reads: "What you are now, I was.  What I am you will be."  This is giving us a message that death is sure to come.  "For it is appointed for men to die once and after this, the judgment."

For me, I would like an epitaph the reads: "He fulfill God's purpose in his life.It implies that living to fulfill God's purpose in my life should be my ultimate desire. Living an unselfish life.

Once it was told, that during the life of a merchant, Alfred Nobel, he was mistakenly put in an Obituary with a message that reads: "Merchant of Death Died", because his business at that time was selling dynamites.  With this circumstance, he realized the kind of impact his life was making doesn't sound good.  So he divert his business to helping people.  Hence, the Nobel Prize award.

How about you?  What kind of epitaph would like or what kind of epitaph you would have?

I hope it's a good one.
